We're delighted to share that "Flattening Fantasies: Analyzing Stereotypes in Pornographic Discourse," co-authored by Sarmad Chandio, Dr. Osama Khalid, and Dr. Ethan Kutlu, has been awarded Best Paper at the 2026 International AAAI Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM) which is one of the leading venues for social computing research.

The project examines how stereotypes surface in online adult content, and what those patterns reveal about broader cultural attitudes. It pairs large-scale quantitative analysis of 5.4 million videos with close qualitative reading. You can find the full coverage here.
